Terms



Agora- was a central spot in ancient Greek city-states.
Arete- means "excellence of any kind”, the term ay also mean “moral virtue”, the act of living up to one’s full potential.

Polis- an independent city and its surrounding region under a unified government

Socrates- Greek philosopher, one of the founders of the western philosophy

Death of Socrates- - was a classical convicted of corrupting the youth of Athens and introducing strange gods, and has been sentenced to die by drinking poison hemlock.
